Arattai, a free messaging and calling app, is now available for download from Zoho. Arattai, which is marketed as an Indian alternative to WhatsApp, performs effectively on low-end smartphones and slower networks.

Key features of the app include voice and text messaging, document and image sharing, audio and video calls, and group chats that can accommodate up to 1,000 participants. It also includes dedicated channels for organized communication. Arattai’s name, which means ‘casual conversation’ in Tamil, reflects its aim of providing simple and informal chat.

Zoho puts a strong focus on privacy policies, guaranteeing users that their data will not be shared with third parties. WhatsApp is a widely popular messaging app that offers text, voice, and video calls, as well as the ability to share multimedia across devices. Group chats with up to 1,024 members are possible and messages are secured using end-to-end encryption. The focus on privacy of WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has attracted millions of loyal users worldwide. Some of the features that distinguish the online messaging service are listed below.

The Compatibility and Performance of the Platform:

Arattai has been designed to run smoothly on low-end smartphones and in areas with slower internet speeds, which makes it a viable option for users with limited connectivity or older devices. The lightweight design ensures minimal data consumption while maintaining basic functionality. WhatsApp is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms, but it typically requires more resources. The performance of entry-level devices or low-bandwidth environments can be impacted by this at times.

    Features for Messaging and Communication:

Text chats, voice notes, and multimedia sharing, such as images, videos, and documents, are among the standard messaging capabilities offered by both applications. Voice and video calls with end-to-end encryption are supported by WhatsApp, as well as group chats with up to 1,024 members. Features that permit temporary sharing of photos and videos include disappearing messages and status updates. Arattai matches many of these features, but extends group chat capacity to 1,000 participants and introduces dedicated channels for broader communication, which is designed for larger communities or organizations.

    Privacy and Security:

Both platforms place a lot of emphasis on privacy. WhatsApp is known for its end-to-end encryption, which ensures that messages, calls, photos, and videos are kept private between the communicating parties. Disabling this encryption is not an option. By not sharing user data with third parties and by incorporating security measures to protect conversations, Zoho’s Arattai prioritizes privacy, despite the fact that it doesn’t currently specify the use of end-to-end encryption at the same level of detail as WhatsApp.
