Jagan Mohan Rath happens to be the name of Biswa’s father. The stable and disciplined lifestyle his family enjoyed was thanks to his work at the State Bank of India. His comedic material was inspired by his time studying at different schools in Odisha. Biswa and Sulagna gave birth to their son, who they named Rushil Panigrahi Rath, on March 2, 2024.

Career

Biswa worked at BitzerMobile, a mobile security startup, after completing his Biotechnology degree at IIT Kharagpur in 2012. During this period, he met Kanan Gill at an open mic event in Bengaluru in 2013. He left his job at Oracle in 2014 to pursue a career as a full-time comedian.

Biswa became a stand-up comedian and performed in major Indian cities. In 2015, he embarked on his initial solo national tour, ‘Biswa In Your Face’ His stand-up special ‘Biswa Mast Aadmi’ was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2017 and received critical acclaim. The Amazon Prime Video series ‘Laakhon Mein Ek’ was created and written by Biswa to expand his creative pursuits, and it was released in 2017 and 2019.

Another stand-up special, ‘Sushi’, was released on Amazon Prime Video by him in 2019. In addition, he played a role in the Netflix film ‘Brahman Naman’ (2016) and appeared in the web series ‘Afsos’ (2020).
