Changing the Instagram app icon is generally possible, but it’s important to remember that it’s not a standard feature for most people. The positive side is that some individuals have the ability. Custom icons have been available on Instagram recently, specifically for teen accounts, with different design aesthetics and frames. This can be accessed through the app’s settings, and there are some workarounds that can be utilized by all users.

The Shortcuts app on iOS allows you to create a custom icon that is linked to the Instagram app. Adding a little more customization to your phone can be done in a simple and effective way. Third-party launcher apps on Android frequently offer similar customization options that can be really cool. Keep in mind that the app’s functionality remains unchanged and only changes its appearance in the form of an icon.

How to Modify the Instagram App Icon

Taking advantage of Instagram’s internal function

This method is the most uncomplicated one you will learn. It’s important to note that it’s currently restricted and only available to Teen Accounts. The number of designer icons it is available for is limited.

Open the Settings menu on your Instagram profile to do this. To find a hidden icon menu, simply swipe downwards from the top of the screen after this. Depending on many factors, it may or may not be available.

If you have access to it, you have the option to choose from the provided themes to alter the appearance of your icon.

    Utilizing the iOS Shortcuts App

This method is another effective way to achieve the same outcome. This method allows you to use any picture as your app icon, but it requires using the built-in ‘Shortcuts’ app on your iPhone.

While doing this, you can create a new shortcut that simply tells your phone to open an app, such as Instagram.

While moving forward in the process, you can choose a custom photo from your gallery before saving the shortcut to your Home Screen. You will be given an icon that has been customized and can be given a name. When you successfully execute this, the original Instagram icon remains, so you can hide or remove the original and only use the new custom shortcut.

    Utilization Third-Party Launchers

While the above two methods are strictly available for iPhones, this one can be used effectively on an Android device. Installing a separate launcher app, like Microsoft Launcher, is a requirement for many Android devices. That has the potential to work as well!
